Our Story
Her Set Her Sound began from an Arkansas Soul article written by founder & promoter, Rob Jordan, who discovered the top gender diverse DJs in Northwest Arkansas were missing intentionally-crafted spaces to share their skills amongst their peers and communities.
Seeing the need to connect and be celebrated, Jordan designed the first music fest in NWA designed to amplify and center local women and non-binary DJs and musical talent in 2021.
Now a creative-entertainment business, our mission is to be a spearheading producer and platform that celebrates, liberates and facilitates opportunities that shows our appreciation and commitment and advances music and entertainment industries for her and hers. As promoters, we have some of NWA's best DJs and talent on-call for your events too! We wish to help carve a more effective path for historically silenced artists, producers and facilitators while emphasizing the natural contribution to society of femmes, women, and non-binary talent using various music and art forms.
The music economy has always benefited from the brilliance, skills and strategies of cultural talent yet artists and producers, especially those from Black, Brown and queer communities, too often are exploited, under or not paid, uncredited, undervalued and lacking advocacy and ownership. Those are the artists that we predominantly promote and the standards we attempt to elevate.
We believe in her right to be seen, heard, protected and paid for her work not only because she's worth it, but because she's just as good, if not better then your mans!
If you are eager to be a part of amplifying HER in NWA or beyond, email herset.hersound@gmail.com to see how you can get involved.
